OUR Process
Book your personalized golf club fitting session today with seasoned professional Bob VanSweden — a multi-award-winning club fitter. Experience premium club fitting and take your golf game to the next level.
1
Step One
Assessment/Build Analysis
Upon arrival, your master fitter will welcome you and begin by discussing your goals and expectations for the fitting session. While you warm up, Bob will perform a spec check and create a detailed blueprint of your current clubs — offering an in-depth look “under the hood” at how they’re built and performing.
2
Step Two
Test Drive Clubs
Your master fitter, Bob will hand-select a range of equipment for you to try, each chosen to target the specific areas identified during your initial consultation. If desired, this is also your opportunity to compare specific products directly against your current clubs to evaluate performance differences.
3
Step Three
Customized recommendation
Next, Bob will present the ideal combination of club head, shaft, and grip tailored to your swing. Each component of your custom setup will be explained in detail and supported by launch monitor data. You’ll also receive a comprehensive fitting report outlining the recommended equipment, precise build specifications, and a shot performance summary based on your data.
The first Question worth addressing is, What is Club Fitting?
In short, Club fitting is the process of determining which golf club allows a player to:
Achieve consistent, center-face contact for maximum control and efficiency
Ensure the clubface is square to the target line with the sole properly aligned to the ground at impact.
Optimize overall performance, feel, and consistency tailored to the individual player’s swing.
Evaluate all critical club design elements — including length, lie angle, loft, weight, swing weight, shaft material and flex, center of gravity, and more.
The Basics
The Basics
Every golfer has a unique swing, and it’s not the club fitter’s job to change that. Instead, a fitter works with your natural motion to optimize performance. In doing so, there are two fundamental elements that must be considered in every swing:
The centeredness of contact on the clubface
The dynamic face angle at impact (a combination of the raw face angle and the lie angle)
These two elements are closely connected. The dynamic face angle influences whether or not you strike the ball in the center of the face — and together, they significantly affect the outcome of the shot.
Center-Face Contact
Striking the ball in the center of the clubface is essential for maximizing energy transfer, resulting in greater distance and improved consistency. Off-center strikes not only reduce power but also introduce gear effect — a twisting of the clubhead at impact that causes unintended spin on the ball. This can lead to heel fades, toe hooks, and a general loss of control.
If your swing isn’t consistent on the day of your fitting, we’ll recommend taking a few days or a week of lessons to work on it before rescheduling. That’s because both the launch monitor and Bob can only work with the swing you bring to the studio that day.
